Meet the Team

  • Katie McCurter MA, LPC, CTMH

    Licensed Professional Counselor

Life, laughter, and love are important to living life wholeheartedly, but psychological pain can get in the way. Abuse in the context of a close relationship or a family can create the most pervasive and persistent psych-ache, and may be passed from generation to generation. Whether the source of pain is past trauma, worry about the future, or even current jobs or relationships, I am here to help! I often see clients whose trauma began in domestic abuse in the forms of emotional, psychological, physical, sexual, or financial abuses.

My work centers on helping clients to locate the source of psych-ache and discontinue the pattern of suffering. I utilize tools from different treatment modalities, tailored to each client's needs and preferences, to help my clients safely process past trauma and make plans to move forward on healthy paths.

The most important part of therapy is feeling safe, welcome, and comfortable. I aim to create an open and caring space for each of my clients on a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. I'd love to help you in your road to healing.

    Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor

Wherever you're at on your journey, it's an honor to support you as you share vulnerable parts of your story. I prioritize genuine connection, authenticity, and empathy. I primarily use a person-centered approach, which means I meet you where you are with compassion and acceptance. When appropriate, other approaches can be incorporated that are evidence based tools. I enjoy a Christian approach for those who request it. Everyone's story is unique in how they experience it. I hope to support you in finding purpose through your strengths, talents, and walking through life's challenges.

I have experience supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, body image and self-compassion struggles. As a previous School Counselor, I also have experience with play therapy techniques. I'm passionate about supporting individuals dealing with self-esteem issues, grief, relationship issues, and women's issues.

Expect to be met with a warm smile, encouragement, and a healthy dose of humor. My hope for you is that you feel seen and heard in our time together. Reaching out for help can feel overwhelmingly vulnerable, yet we all experience stress and painful challenges at times. No one person can do it all alone and you don't have to struggle in silence.
